Good Governance: Key to Resiliency
Governance is characterized as the way in which control is worked out within the administration of a country’s financial and social assets for advancement. Good governance implies competent administration of a country’s assets and affairs in a way that’s open, straightforward, responsible, impartial, and responsive to people’s needs. With these descriptions, we can confidently say that if governance includes the exercise of authority in managing the resources of a country, then good governance is about making sure that this exercise of power helps improve quality of life enjoyed by all citizens and can lead towards a more resilient country
Good governance is an important aspect
because first, it can preserve and strengthen stakeholder confidence, a
supportive stakeholder base can generate benefits for the organization through
social and emotional support, intangible but very valuable attributes that all
organizations should strive to achieve and sustain. Second, it provides the
foundation for a high-performing organization, the accomplishment of objectives
and maintainable victory requires input and bolster from all levels of an
association. Lastly, it ensures the organization is well placed to respond to a
changing external environment.
In summary, our government should have
transparency, legitimacy, rule of law, and accountability to ensure that we are
going towards a resilient Philippines.
